Billy Elliot Musical , incredible and unmissable. (Review)
This Musical is called Billy Elliot, it is
based on the book and movie Billy Elliot. It was directed by Stephen Daldry,
produced by Tim Bevan, Eric Fellner, Jon Finn and Sally Greene and the musical
director was Chris Hatt. It is about a boy that tries to achieve his dream even
though he has trouble doing so. Ali Rasul is Billy Elliot in the musical.Billy
Elliot is set in the tumultous 1984-1985. It was an extraordinary time in many
ways.
Billy Elliot is an 11 years old child that
lives with his father Jackie, his older brother Tony and his Grandma. His dad
and his brother are coal miners and his mother is dead. They live in
Everingston, a town that produces coal. Billy´s family is living in an
economical crisis for england because coal isn´t generating any money, because
of this england´s prime minister Margaret Thatcher has decided to close all
coal mines, this of course leaves many people without job, including Billy´s
family. The miners gathered and decided to start a strike.Billy is taking
secretly ballet classes but he is supossed to be taking boxing classes, his dad
don´t allow Billy to take Ballet classes beacause it´s for puff and his family
tradition is to do boxing for men. Mrs Wilkinson, the ballet teacher of Billy
is trying to take Billy to the Royal Ballet School and for that it needs his
family permission. His familly, as they are in strike they can´t gather money
but all the miners are going to help with it.
Ali Rasul(Billy Elliot) is a very talented
child that is only 12 years old that did the best to be Billy Elliot in the
Musical, he knows to dance and act and I think he did very well in the Musical.
He was the protagonist and he needed to practice a lot to not make mistakes and
he didn´t make mistakes. Other characters like Tony(Kevin Wathen) and
Jackie(Deka Walmsley) did an excelent performance as well as Michael(Joe Massey) and Mrs.
Wilkinson(Anna-Jane Casey). The Musical was very good and the actors did so well that I thought
that the fights were real and everything was real.It was also very funny
because some characters like Michael made dumb things which made me laugh.
Overall everyone did very good and the musical was perfect because of that. I
loved it.
I liked how all the actors danced and sang.
They were very good. One part I really liked was when the miners and the police
sang as they ¨fought¨ each other because it was very enthusiastic and the song
was very good.Another part I liked was when Billy practiced ballet with Mrs
Wilkinson because their dance was very good. I also liked the suspense when
billy´s card arrived because I didnt know if he was going to be accepted at the
end.
What I learned was that life is not always easy
and that you should always try to achieve your dreams no matter what, even if
you have to work hard to achieve them. I think others may learn the same and
this musical could also help them for inspiration and a motivation to keep
moving forward.
I think people who like music, drama and dancing
will enjoy this movie. Others who hate alot of noise will not enjoy it, aswell
as very old people. I think everyone above the age of 15 will be able to watch
this musical because it has some swearing which could be a bad influence for
some people but its not something to worry about much.
I´ll give this movie 5 stars out of 5.
